Now that the days are turning colder and darker, my morning coffee feels more essential than ever — and in our office, that means the Nespresso machine. We’ve got two coffee machines (and a kettle), but the Nespresso is our pride and joy. Sleek, stylish, and a little indulgent — it’s not just coffee, it’s a ritual.
We joined the Nespresso coffee club when they offered us a free machine in exchange for a newsletter subscription. A no-brainer!
But of course, a machine needs pods. So last weekend I went onto the Nespresso website — and was instantly hooked.
Beautiful pictures of colourful pods.
Cool display stands to show them off.
Accessories so stylish they’re practically décor.
Suddenly, coffee stopped being a drink — it became a fashion statement.
(And yes, I did almost mention George Clooney. Did I tell you I’ve been near his house on Lake Como?!)
Here’s the point: no one likes being sold to. But everyone loves to buy.
I started out reluctantly “having” to buy pods. Now 300 are on their way, and I had to stop myself from clicking on the accessories too.
That’s the magic of making something desirable. If Nespresso can make small metal pods sexy, then we can all make our own offers irresistible.
