I love stand-up comedy so I couldn’t believe my luck when tickets came up on Groupon, £5 for two people to attend the Fosters Comedy Night in Reading.
Now I have done loads of Groupon offers. And the service offers have been severely lacking. They usually treat you like dirt (because they know you have paid less than usual), they severely restrict their service times or service levels, and worst of all, they don’t take my details to market to me afterwards! Groupon is a lead generation machine, and yet they NEVER follow up with me to get another booking.
Until now.
Highlight Comedy was the exception that proves the rule.
Friendly staff to do the booking. Emails beforehand offering discounted food if you ordered in advance (already using my contact details to earn money).
When we turned up, we were treated like royalty, staff friendly and informative. We had a great table (not one next to the loos) and prompt service. The show was funny and we had the chance to become VIP members on the evening. I had an email the next day asking for feedback, which I gave happily, and as a result got another offer for 2 for £5. So we went again.
Each time we spent close to £100 on drinks and food. And we will keep going as the second time was just as good as the first. They really get it!
A perfect example of using Groupon the right way!
